Apple is reportedly preparing to enter the smart display market with its long-awaited HomePad, potentially launching October 13.
The device is expected to feature a roughly 6-inch touchscreen, Siri AI, FaceTime, smart-home controls and a new interface reportedly built around widgets, photos and clock displays.
Apple is also reportedly planning both tabletop and wall-mounted versions, with the design taking inspiration from the iMac G4. A privacy-focused Visitor Mode could recognize household members and limit what personal information is shown to guests.
The HomePad is expected to launch alongside updated HomePod mini and Apple TV hardware, giving Apple a broader push into connected-home devices.
If the reports are accurate, October 13 could mark Apple's biggest expansion into the smart-home market yet.
