Bose is expanding its open-ear audio lineup with two new models: the Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) and the new Sport Open Earbuds, giving users separate options for everyday listening and active lifestyles. Both models are set to arrive on October 1.
The second-generation Ultra Open Earbuds retain Bose’s distinctive clip-on design but bring several upgrades, including a redesigned driver aimed at delivering stronger bass and higher volume. The earbuds also introduce a new Cinema Mode powered by Bose’s spatial-audio technology, while a redesigned case now supports wireless charging.
Battery life has also received a boost, with the Ultra Open Earbuds now offering up to nine hours of playback, compared with 7.5 hours on the previous generation. They also support Bluetooth 5.4, multipoint connectivity and automatic volume adjustment.
For fitness users, the new Sport Open Earbuds feature a lighter silicone finish designed to stay secure during movement. They offer up to seven hours of battery life, IP54 dust and water resistance, physical controls and a charging case with an additional 22 hours of power.
The move shows Bose is betting further on open-ear audio, a category that allows users to listen to music while remaining aware of their surroundings.
