Google has unveiled Gemini 4 Argon, its latest frontier AI model designed for complex coding, enterprise research and cybersecurity tasks.
The model features a 1 million-token context window, allowing it to handle much larger and longer-running workloads than earlier Gemini models, reports Reuters.
Google says Argon is already being used internally for software engineering, financial research, legal work and large-scale code optimization.
Cybersecurity is another major focus. Google says Argon can identify, validate and patch software vulnerabilities, with the model initially being made available to trusted cyber defenders through its Fairwind program. Wider access for developers, enterprises and consumers is expected to follow.
Google is also emphasizing Argon's pricing. The introductory rate is $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with cached inputs receiving a 95% discount.
The launch puts Gemini 4 Argon directly into the growing competition among Google's, OpenAI's and Anthropic's latest frontier AI systems. Reuters reported that Argon performs strongly on several coding and cybersecurity benchmarks, although it trails competitors on some coding measures.
