Vivo has launched its new X500 smartphone series in China, with the X500 Pro Max taking center stage as the company’s most creator-focused camera phone yet. The lineup includes the X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max.
The X500 Pro Max introduces Vivo’s new LYTIA L910-based imaging sensor, which the company says can deliver 17 EV of dynamic range. It is paired with a 200MP ZEISS APO telephoto camera and support for a 400mm-equivalent ZEISS telephoto extender, giving creators more flexibility for long-range photography and video.
Video is where the Pro Max makes its biggest push. The phone can record 4K video at 240 frames per second for cinematic slow motion, along with 4K 120fps 10-bit Log recording, 8K Native Live and professional 10-bit 4:2:2 encoding. Vivo has also added support for ACES and DaVinci color workflows.
The phone runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro chip and features Vivo’s V3+ and VS1+ imaging processors. It also packs an 8,000mAh battery and a 6.85-inch 2K ZEISS Master Color display.
Vivo is also offering a dedicated Creator Kit with a wireless camera viewfinder and telephoto converter lenses. The company says the setup is designed to give creators a more flexible shooting experience without relying entirely on traditional camera equipment.
The X500 Pro Max starts at CNY 6,999 in China, with sales beginning September 24. Vivo has not yet announced specific international pricing or launch dates, although a global rollout is planned.
