Huawei Watch D3 Brings a Real Blood Pressure Cuff to Your Wrist

Huawei has unveiled the Watch D3, a health-focused smartwatch that uses an inflatable cuff built into its strap to measure blood pressure.

The new wearable was introduced at IFA 2026 and is designed to offer more direct blood pressure readings than smartwatches that rely mainly on optical sensors and software.

Smaller Design, Same Cuff Technology

The Watch D3 is slimmer than its predecessors, measuring 11.3mm thick and weighing about 40 grams. Huawei has also redesigned the inflatable section of the strap to make it narrower and more comfortable for regular use.

The watch supports 24-hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring, allowing users to schedule readings throughout the day and night. It can also track blood pressure around exercise and other changes in conditions.

Huawei Takes a Different Approach

While Apple and Google have introduced features that look for signs or trends associated with high blood pressure, Huawei uses physical hardware to recreate the basic function of a traditional cuff on the wrist.

The Watch D3 also includes standard smartwatch features such as workout tracking, GPS and health-data monitoring. It starts at £399.99 and is not currently available in the U.S.
